Your investment options
It's your money - take control
Where your money is invested can make a big difference to what your pension pot will be worth - and to your lifestyle - when you retire.
So it’s important that you find out where your money is invested and what your options are.
Option 1. Stay in the Trustee selected option
Unless you pick another option, when you join The Telefónica UK Pension Plan your money is automatically invested in the Getting Ready for Flexible Retirement Lifestyle Profile (PDF, 771KB).
The Trustees have chosen this because they believe it's a good option for most people in the company. Your money will stay invested in this option unless you decide to change where you invest.
It's a lifestyle profile, which means that as you get closer to retirement, it will gradually and automatically move your money into funds which aim to prepare your pension for retirement.
- You don't have to select your own investments
- You don't have to actively manage your investments
- It automatically prepares your pension savings for retirement
- You can't invest in any other options if you choose this option
- It's not suitable for everyone
Option 2. Choose from the selected range
If you want more choice about where to invest your money, you can choose from the selected range of investment options.
You don't have to be an investment expert. There are choices to suit your level of experience and how involved you want to be.
- You get more choice about where to invest your money, but you still get some direction
- Depending on what you choose you might need to be more involved in managing your investments
- Costs might be higher
As with any investment its value can go down as well as up and may be worth less than what was paid in.
If you need help with choosing your investments, you should seek financial advice. There is likely to be a charge for this.
